Genuine Hoodia Gordonii, how to tell
The strange, almost ugly looking plant Hoodia Gordonii is now an endangered species and must be grown, harvested and distributed under strict guidelines to regulate. Authentic and genuine Hoodia Gordonii will certification of authenticity, certificate of origin and the most important of all, a Cites certificate.
A CITES certificate (Convention on International Trade to protect endangered species such as animals or plants (fauna and flora) to be grown or cultivated and exported for profit.
The process of obtaining a CITES certificate may be very involved and longwinded, bureaucratic and expensive. It is often a process that some Hoodia producers choose to ignore or, worse, fake.
How to verify a genuine Hoodia Gordonii
A Hoodia Gordonii most providers will try to draw attention to the authenticity of their product by showing a certificate CITES marketing materials, internet sales of their site or product packaging.
A closer examination often reveals that the brand of product or manufacturer does not correspond with the organization that has been granted the permit – if in doubt check the document.
The name and address is displayed in the upper left corner – Do not read confidential or private. If the manufacturer is no public displays – they can have anything to hide.
Another document that should point to the authenticity is the certification of origin – or C certificate O.. Hoodia Gordonii is native to Africa South and hence the CO of the documentation should be delivered by the Cape Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry presents the supplier or manufacturer.
Recently, the plant Hoodia Gordonii is grown exclusively in the Republic of South Africa. Countries like China, Mexico and America North are allowed to farm, harvest and export. Hoodia Gordonii products of these countries are no less or no more as authentic as their counterpart South Africa, but are considered by many to be hybrids and not as powerful and not as pure as originally native to South Africa for breeding.
Pure Hoodia Gordonii is a natural appetite the most effective in existence. It remains the same today as it did 1000's there are some years ago when native San Tribesman Kalahari first discovered that parts of this unusual plant research allowing them to spend days without food. While the intent of the tribe was not for weight loss the result is obvious, without ill effect.
From the San tribe of yesteryear adds nothing to their Hoodia Gordonii – nor did they detract. So why should we today.
