How much would it cost to design a door?
I live in Amarillo, TX – the largest city is ABQ, NM. I want to cut a exterior door, where an existing window is now. The exit door to my bedroom and go on a flat roof where I want to build a bridge. One of you give me a guestimate of how much it would cost to reduce the door, pull the window, under the door, installing a door (excluding the price of the door), and repairing damaged drywall. I'll paint the drywall, and hang the door. So do I need to know to do the job cheaper? For example, would have a window of some companies, or the type of door to make it cheaper?
Like contractor in Ohio, let me give an estimate of about $ 500 – $ 700. This price includes all materials to install the door and finish the interior minus the price of the door and painting. Now, think outside. Have you siding, stucco, etc.. This would also be repaired. If you've never hung a door, I recommend you let a pro do it. Door prize at your local home improvement store.
