The importance of the Tibetan Om
Tibetan Om or Aum is of great importance in Hinduism. This sacred syllable is used to represent Brahman, the impersonal Absolute – omnipotent, omnipresent and the source of all existence. In its essence, Brahman is incomprehensible and therefore symbol is needed to help us realize the Unknowable. The Tibetan Om is used to represent the two aspects of God, the manifest and UN-evident.
The Tibetan Om is used daily, even if it consists of the deepest of Hindu beliefs. Everyday work or travel in the lives of Hindus is started by saying the Tibetan Om sound. This symbol is very widespread, even at the head of letters or early a test. The symbol is also worn by many Hindus as a pendant Om, as an expression of spiritual perfection. Each Hindu temple and a temple of the family, you will find this symbol devoted in one way or another. In addition, many family members choose to wear OM pendant that can offer them protection and peace of mind.
The importance of this sign is so great for the Hindus that each child brought in this world with her. After the birth of the child, it is cleaned and the sacred syllable that is written on its tongue with honey. In this way, the syllable Om is initiated into the life of a Hindu and remains with him as a symbol of devotion.
The Tibetan Om is rather an intonation of a word, which, like music, transcends the barriers of age, race, culture or species. The sound Aum or Om is composed of three AA batteries Sanskrit letters, and MA. The general belief is that Om is the basic sound of the world and also contains all other sounds. A noise frequency and the universe is broadly in line frequency. Uttering Om helps create the sound and movement of the rest. If this noise is repeated with the intonation correct, it can resonate throughout the body and therefore penetrate the soul or the center of his being.
The Om is a mantra, a syllable or a sentence who has a spiritual significance and is repeated over and over again. The mantra comes from the Sanskrit word "man" as the means of thinking. The use of mantras is also a tool to develop meditative concentration, although it frequently importance of devotion. Even the word "Buddha" can be used like a mantra to keep the mind focused and set aside distracting thoughts. The syllable Om can also be found in the Tibetan tradition in formulas more complex, the most popular of them being "Om Mani Padme Hum" (This form, translated word by word, means "Hail to the Jewel of the Lotus." In Generally, the jewel of the Lotus is Buddha).
In meditation, chanting of Om creates a vibration that aligns sympathy with the cosmic vibration. That's when we start thinking universally. The spirit moves between the opposites of sound and silence until the silence absolute possession of us and we are now in a state of trance when intelligence and mind are transcended and worldly affairs are lost in the desire of the universal. It is the immeasurable power of Om.
The sign used to represent the OM is called "omkar" and it contains three curves, one semicircle and a point. They are supposed to symbolize the states of human consciousness. The waking state is symbolized by the great bend below, the deep sleep state is represented by the upper curve and the dream state is symbolized by the lower curve which lies between deep sleep and waking state.
A Om pendant is something that is common among Hindus, but it can also be worn by other people too. Om pendant symbolizes tranquility, peace of mind and spiritual perfection. It is a condition Everybody wants to achieve.

I bought a symbolic pendant error invalid … What do I do now?
I went to a store of small world that has a lot vary much from other countries. I purchaced two pendants. One is a random pattern that I can not find online anywhere. I think Nice to see it just? The other, I thought it was a form of Celtic Dara knot.I asked the lady at the Register that it was and she told me about Celtic Knot. So I bought it.I was so stupid, did not take the recipe. (I'm very pro-eco) I go home and try to understand is that is swirly. I found the pendant others if! They are Tibetan yak bone pendants. The Celtic "knot" Buddha is in fact an endless knot. I am Catholic and what not. What should I do? I can not throw it Away because I have great respect for other religions and peoples. It's just because of a poor man has spent time carving that I can not get rid of. What can I do? Not that I want to get rid of. It's beautiful. I want to use it in a way that will not disrespect anyone.
A lot of people think that if they are faithful Christians, they can not nothing to do with Buddhism. The thing to remember is that Buddhism is not a religion, is a philosophy. You certainly can honra precepts of Buddhism, Christianity without dishonor to all. I put it aside for the moment until you understand what that really means, and you can decide if you still want. If you do not want, I'm sure must be a Freecycle list in your area and you have to advertise that you want to give, and someone will take off your hands. Problem resolved.
