Interior painted Chinese snuff
There are some really incredible ancient Chinese snuff bottles, mostly glass, which have been painted, but inside the bottle! When we look at the size of the hole does not seem to be a very difficult achievement, but they managed to paint attractive scenes, often with calligraphy, like a poem or a few lines, outside of signing artists.
There are many poor modern interior painted bottles available, but there are some modern can be very attractive to collect too.
Some bottles antique snuff which are very popular are painted with a portrait on one side and the calligraphy of the other. Considering they had to paint the eyebrows and eyelashes before the remaining essential to create these portraits, which are so good and detailed that they resemble Miniature almost photographic prints, it is easy to understand why they are so popular!
But what I feel are noteworthy are snuff painted inside that were not made to be painted by these artists. I know that a bottle where the painter took a bottle poorly crystalline rock dug snuff and painted the interior with a wonderful detailed scene of colorful fish that stretch throughout the internal surfaces, it also includes his signature. In this case the two opposite surfaces of the inner cylinder are 3millimeters only part (about the same size as the hole) then how one side can be painted without damaging the other is really hard to believe.
