How to protect yourself from bird flu and other infections by washing your hands – the right way
OK, so I like your mother – I accept it. But I am worse than your mother, because I want you to wash your hands more often than your mother did.
For longer and more depth.
If and when avian flu mutates into a virus contagious among people, can be expected to spread as easily as ordinary flu and Influenza usually does the same manner
ordinary flu (and cold too) is spread primarily two ways: the spread and spread by contact in the air.
Airborne spread means that someone throws virus by coughing or sneezing, and small droplets containing the virus to block in the air and you breath in. They can hang there for fifteen minutes or more before falling to the ground.
Experts disagree on the spread by contact or airborne spread of new infections cause most colds and flu.
It is a fact that you can greatly reduce your chances of catching bird flu, the common flu, colds and other common infections such as calicivirus, which causes nausea, stomach flu () in you washing hands to eliminate the risk of spread of contact.
It is true that hand washing will not help you if a diseased bird flu sneezes in your face, to avoid!
Contact spread means passing along germs by touch. Flu viruses can live outside a human body for hours. H5N1 bird flu virus can survive outside for days.
It is therefore quite possible that one of your colleagues Work can be infected, but without even knowing it yet. They work at a computer keyboard. They help to H5N1 buttons. You sit on the keyboard a few hours later and do a little work. You do not know, but bird flu is on your hands.
Now, at this stage, H5N1 is safe. He can not pass through the skin of your hands. This is good news.
The bad news is that most of we touch our hands on our faces every 30 seconds. You put your hand on your chin thinking. You scratch your nose. You rub your eyes. You chew your nails.
Then the bird flu virus can infect you. It is your hands in your body through the mouth, nose and eyes. then infects the respiratory tract and in some days you cough.
This is why it is so important to wash hands often in the best case, most often in cold and flu ordinary and compulsively during a pandemic of avian flu.
You may think you do not need for this article. Think again. The researchers ran Once an experiment in public toilets in Grand Central Station. They have installed cameras to see how many people washed their hands after is their business. They have watched hundreds of men and women of all social classes, economy class, race and ethnicity – Homeless for the rich.
60% did not wash their hands at all!
Less than 10% wash hands thoroughly.
Almost no one washed their hands thoroughly and avoid touching the lounge area before leaving.
You should wash your hands after going the toilet and before meals, as your mother taught you. You should also wash your hands during the day. Especially after having shaken hands someone (when it is polite to do so, of course), after handling someone else's things (like using someone else's pen or computer keyboard), after coughing or sneezing, after preparing food during cooking – And even more often during the regular flu and cold season and during a pandemic of avian flu.
Do not become as crazy as Howard Hughes in old age but wash your hands often, the right way.
Use soap and water. Water should be at a comfortable temperature. When it's too cold will not dissolve the soap as easily. Too hot and of course it will burn you.
Lather and rub soap all over your hands and your fingers, including under the nails, for twenty to thirty seconds. Rinse. Repeat.
In public toilets, avoid touching surfaces with your hands now clean. Close the faucet with a paper towel. Push open the door with paper towel.
In some places (like where I work), there is no soap available, only a germicidal lotion triclosan.
Scientists disagree on the use of triclosan. Some think it is a dangerous chemical. Some believe that it encourages the germicidal resistance in bacteria. Some believe that the natural balance germs on the skin.
If you have a choice, rub hands thoroughly with soap and water. If you have no choice, just use triclosan. Chances are you will not even notice.
Some of the same arguments apply to the germicidal hand lotions containing isopropyl alcohol, where you'll find plenty of stores in the fall start of flu season. Except that some people say that when the alcohol evaporates during drying the skin of your hands creating small cracks that allow more dirt inside your skin.
Therefore, I use my lotion Hand isopropyl alcohol only when I feel my hands are so dirty that I want extra protection in addition to a thorough cleaning of soapy water. Hey, sometimes it happens after I use the toilet.
And during a pandemic of avian flu – I the application of this lotion germicidal hand ten times a day, the cracks in the skin or no cracks in the skin. Especially if I hit someone or manipulated objects that may have been exposed to another person.
Why is it necessary for the doctor to put his hand inside all that you feel if the baby moves?
Why is it necessary for the doctor to put his hand inside all that you feel if the baby moves unborn, perhaps the ultra-must show whether or not the baby moves correctly, thought of one hand while I am not coming back, and two my friends who were pregnant prior to the time this procedure was done for them?
I'm about 37 weeks and my doctor uses his fingers to 1-2 check position. You do not know why he was using a whole hand. From the wording of your question, it seems that if your friends have done this for them, but you do not have this place yet. If you are interested please talk to your doctor about it and let him know that you prefer to go another way. The only time I heard a hand full implementation ago if the placenta does not come out together and they must go to recover. If they catch the left on the placenta, then you can bleed to death. If this happens, try focusing on your toddler and not the pain … I heard that this is not a nice feeling at all.
