How do I put a waterproof / resistant final dishwasher, which is safe for food on a cutting board Bamboo?
I have a bamboo cutting board which was recently awarded a mold (I live in a very hot and humid and the board wets a little). I killed the mold, but I'm looking for a solution that will allow me to clean it properly with little or no effort, and also enable it to remain moist without consequence. I do not want it to have a detrimental effect on my kitchen knives or food that is prepared on / ate by it. I felt like soaking flax / mineral oil mixture, epoxying marble from one side, the paint on the other, and polyurethane seal. I honestly do not know if it's a solid theory or not, and I do not know if it goes in the dishwasher to the cutting board. Ideas?
You should never "dip" a plank of wood cutting. I used one for years and I use oil the mineral food safety. Allow your cutting board to soak in water or put it in the dishwasher will crack. Soak the wood has probably been the cause of the mold first.
