Lhasa is the capital of Tibet and the political, ECONOMY, and the center Tibet's cultural. It will take you at least 2 or 3 days to see this unique city of Tibet. I reommend you plan a trip of 7 days for your trip to Lhasa. 2 or 3 days Lake "Sky" and 3-4 days for Shannan or Rigazhe. You can discover the unique culture of Tibet in these areas. What attracts millions of tourists here is religious culture of Tibet and it would be a shame to miss those traditional places of Tibet, if you alreay in Tibet. There are six outstanding areas for tourists in Tibet and they are: Rigazhe, Shannan Naqu, Ali, Linzhi and Chengdu. Here are the most popular excursions for your travel to Tibet:
(1). Lhasa – Rigazhe – Lazhi – Zhangmu. It is a traditional visit for foreign tourists and is recommended by most Chinese travel agents. You can visit the second largest city in Tibet – in Rigazhe this trip for your travel Tibet. The temple and brilliant Zhishilunbu banchan Palace is located in Rigazhe. Other attractions of this tour are: Yaluzhangbu River, Shag Temple Mount Forest. The whole trip will be 8 to 12 days.

(2). Lhasa – Rigezhe – Lazhi – Cuoqin – Gaizhe – Gejia – Shiquan River – Pulan. This tour is not easy one. But it is very attractive. You go thought the Aligaoyuan (called the roof of the world), Mount Sanmubati, Snow Mountain Balingang, Guge Mysterious Palace. Now, this tour is becoming more popular in Travel to Tibet because you can enjoy the unique culture and natural scenes in Tibet in it. Although is a difficult journey, it is always the first choice for thousands of adventure travelers. This tour of three weeks. (I will choose this trip for my trip to Tibet, it is an exciting one)

(3). Lhasa – Jiangmu – Rigezhe – Lhasa. The tour will pass through the bridge Qushui, Mount Gangbala, Yangzhuoyong lake. When you arrive Jiangzhi city, you can visit the famous Temple Baiju (It is also called Wanfota). This trip focuses on religion and culture Tibet and the total time cost is about 2-4 days.

(4). Lhasa – Shannan. Shannan is called "the birthplace of the Tibetan nation "and it was the center of an old civilization called" Yalonghegu. "attractions of this trip are: Shangye Temple – the first temple of Tibet, Changzhu – The room fist Buddha Tibet Suodang – the first agricultural land Tibet Yabulakang – the first palace in Tibet. They are all the tourists say Tibetan culture and history. This visit is mainly on the history of Tibet and 2-3 days to adjust to that. (6). Lhasa – Linzhi – Shannan – Lhasa. The most attractive place for this tour is Linzhi. This is called a place like Heavan Tibet. The Valley is famous Lalvzhangbu here in Linzhi. It is a place very attractive for scientists and adventure travelers. The total length of this trip is about 2000 kilometers and there will usually be 4-7 days. (I like the beautiful Linzhi. It is a good choice for your trip to Lhasa in Tibet Travel)

What was society like in Tibet before the Chinese occupation?

Was there a feudal or caste system, strictly applied best conditions for the rich and powerful? Is it democratic? Or was it a mixture of these things? Life was generally difficult for the average working individual? Specifically, the 20th century, that many years are probably too large to meet parameter.

It was essentially a theocracy. The Dalai Lama and other senior lamas called regents has made key decisions. The monasteries were also centers of administration. There was little wealth, and all the lamas led a simple life. Most people were farmers or ranchers, and of course, that life is hard, but there was no exploitation. The Tibetans have been all Buddhists, there were no religious minorities. It was a fairly benevolent.
