What do you learn and do in a sculpture class?

I know that you essentially learn to carve, but I'm looking for a more limited information. If you've ever taken a sculpture class, how was it? Be as descriptive as possible. I ask because I am an Intro in sculpting class next semester.

intro, you will probably be introduced in the basic techniques such as subtractive (such as sculpture distance), additive (like adding more clay or wax together), assembly (putting objects together), cast in the round, and relief sculpture. you will probably be given information on various tools and materials as well.
