what is the $ of vintage Japanese porcelain Buddha cookie jar?
Says, “Good Fortune Cookie” on his belly
You haven’t provided enough information. A picture would have helped.
Factors that affect value:
Actual age. “Vintage” usually means twenty or more years old. If it is only 20 years old, it is probably not as valuable as it would be if it were 120 years old.
Maker’s mark: What markings are on the bottom of the jar? This can tell you if it was mass produced, and there are thousands of these in the world, or if it is one of a kind.
Condition: Any chips, cracks, lost paint or stains will reduce the value.
Size: Is this a miniature, average size, or three feet tall?
Color: Colored glazes, paint, patina, all affect the value.
