The Chinese whisper will build
Till they agree:
“Not a colour wasted.
Such depths behind the pastels
And always drawing the eye”
Nowhere else can so much
Be drawn from inference
Be it there
Or be it not.
Danny, my old mate…this is wonderful.
The idea alone is worth 10/10 but if you add the ‘artful’ way you have carried it through it goes right off the scale.
My only query – the title. Are you saying that a poem, beautifully executed, is the work of a counterfeiter? Is that what a successful poet is?
I really love this. A definite keeper.
