My Knee makes a wierd crackling noise when i bend it?

It only happens when i squat or bend my knee so that my calf touches my thigh. I can also feel it. And it kind of grosses me out. I have no pain and im still young so can’t be arthiritis can it? :O ( hope not) I can feel the crackling on the tendon bit on my knee, (the bit where doctors hit it and it kicks up automatically)
Its quite audible doesn’t sound like any fluid… it sounds a bit like those chinese fireworks you get on a string, EXCEPT the sound it A LOT quieter, but has that same kind of sound.
its never injured it before, apart from scratches but nothing recquiring a cast or guard.

if you have any idea of what it is, could you please tell me.

im not legally allowed to have sex yet, so how the hell can i get an STD?

That’s happening to me too! It never hurts and I’m only 23. I’ve noticed that some exercises I do with my knees like cycling or something…it doesn’t crack. I think what you need to do is build up muscle in your legs with exercises that don’t stress your knee to crack. That way it will take some of the pressure of the bones scratching together.

I think the first answer is wrong too, cause I know your not ‘cracking’ them like how you crack your fingers, but its like a grinding on another bone. Take fish oil, it has a lot of benefits including reducing risks for cardiovascular disease, lowering cholesterol and helping with joints.
