Nippon Porcelain

Antique Nippon Porcelain, as China has called during the period from the 1890s through the early 1920, noted the country of origin rather than products of a specific manufacturer. If the cleaning that you used does not remove brands they can not be scratching (dirt on the porcelain). The more they are likely to damage the enamel itself (finish porcelain chipped off the base metal). If this is the case, they are "liquid relief" available in the plumbing section of hardware. I have not used one in years, but I remember correctly, they require a dry surface to make the patch. You may have to empty your toilet bowl.
