The history of teapots

Tea (Camellia sinensis), has been cultivated in the 4th century, after specimens Indians were brought to China from India. Teapots were not used until much later.

The Early forms of teapots
Traditional teapots are not required until the leaf infusion has become popular at the beginning of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) in China. At this stage, teapots were necessary to allow the tea to infuse in boiling water.
Drinking vessels for wine and water since the time of China for years. These vessels had a spout and handle, then evolved creating teapots. Yixing Teapots The Yixing teapot, created during the Ming dynasty of China is considered like the teapot first. It was made from Zisha (purple clay), specifically for brewing tea or steep. Today Yixing teapots are still made by skilled craftsmen from clay in Jiangsu Province. They are made from clay unglazed, which gradually absorbs the flavor and color of the tea brewed in them, making them desirable for the ship tea. Yixing teapots lovers of tea are not only used to make tea, but were in fact drinking vessels. We drink directly from the spout of the pot. By the 15th century EC, the tea was no longer considered only for its medicinal properties. The Japanese and Chinese were drinking tea for ceremonial purposes. Japanese use teapots created a demand for this new form of pottery.
The Japanese artist Sen Rikyu (1522-1591) was the driving force Development of Yixing teapots into an art form.
