We have been contacted by a resident of Tanglewood, which was dissatisfied with the appearance of his front yard. The existing drive was nothing more than a solid concrete slab that has left little room for any other vegetation that small parcels of San Augustine grass and a magnolia that was very close to cracking the back wall next to the house. The landscape had excellent drainage, which in most cases it is a good thing. However, in this case the topsoil retained very little rain, so for at least six months of the year, the grass wither and turn brown. Our client wanted the grass replaced by lush plantings of vegetation which would function in various shades of green with seasonal flowers, and she also wanted a brick walkway that would add a classic touch of Old World Recalls horse and carriage days of centuries past.

We started our project by carefully studying a number of photographs of late 19th century roads and sidewalks of brick.
