How can I get rust off my best friend ring?
I got this ring from Claire’s seven months ago to match my friend’s ring. Mine says ‘best’ and hers says ‘friends’. Sometimes I forget to take off my ring when I wash my hands and it’s rusting. It used to be silver, but now it’s copper. One part of it is still silver, another is copper, and another is black.
Are there any home remedies or ways to get my ring silver again? I’ve tried toothpaste, it helped at first, but isn’t helping that much anymore.
It is rusting because the sliver plating has worn off. The only way to make it silver again is to have it silver plated. A jewelery store can do this. But since it’s a ring from Claire’s (Unless it’s really sentimental) then it would be cheaper to buy another one. Another choice would be to get a pair of real silver rings from a jeweler and have the words best and friends engraved on them. They will always be silver and will last longer. You should be able to pick a couple of silver rings up for less than $50 for both.
The price for engraving depends on the style , size of letters etc.
