I would like to identify hallmarks on three silver plates?

I have three silver plates of about 25 cm diameter and each with the same four hallmarks and a coat of arms. Each weighs about 470 grms, just over 1 lb. An informed silver jeweller of mature years advises me they’re not solid silver and has never seen these hallmarks ever before. The plates are from my wifes grandfather, who was in the merchant navy with the Union Castle line although it’s not their coat of arms. I have detail photos of these marks if anyone can help me. Many thanks in advance. (I’m trying to trace their origins and place a value on them.)

You need to tell us what the marks say! And can you also post up a link to a photo, please? A hallmark on solid silver will include the Assay Office sign, Anchor, Leopard’s Head, Castle and so on for the different British Assay Offices (you can look these up online by googling British Silver Hallmarks).
