A short visit to China allowed me to satisfy the desire to travel on the most beautiful ship is currently sailing the Yangtze River. Launched in July 2008, the "Yangzi Explorer 'offers a level of comfort not experienced before. It runs between Chongqing and Yichang now, or vice versa take 4 days / Downstream and 3 nights 5 days / 4 nights upstream.

It is en route to the famous and spectacular Three Gorges and Three Gorges Dam, including a hour 4 / 5 through its 5 sas enormous. Everyone is over 60 feet wide and 900 feet long. Consisting of only 62 cabins including 24 suites, it carries a maximum of 124 people but this number is rarely achieved if the cabins are occupied by individual travelers. The deluxe cabins, standard rooms if you like, are far from standard. 27 m², they are the size of a hotel room. The deluxe cabins have a bathroom of good size with marble walls and floors and a good shower. There is plenty of room for a queen bed and a flat screen television on the wall means that you have more space to move or relax on the sofa. Each cabin has a large bay window and a balcony. The suites on board to allow more living space or room for Cocktail maybe if a group of friends or business clients traveling together.

The Yangzi Explorer is designed for two persons and families. The Extra beds can be placed in the suites and even luxury cabins are interconnected for families to spend time together. The deck of the Explorer, at the top of the ship is divided into an area outside with chairs and an indoor lounge where you can relax in armchairs upholstered plumped and large areas of windows offering snacks, tea and coffee during the day and cocktails in the evening. There is also a room Private dining can be reserved. Also on board is a theater where demonstrations during the cruise is given and the movies China are projected. Learn more about tea, the ball do the dam of Three Gorges of the Yangtze, calligraphy and painting snuff pearls. A library is also available alone, perhaps after a spa treatment. During the cruise several trips are made on the shore. Exact Tour depend on water levels and nationalities on board, but may include villages and school tours, boat tours on small ships some narrow tributary rivers and of course the Three Gorges dam project itself. Cuisine on board is international and included in the price of lunch cruise and dinner are the house wines and beer. The Yangzi Explorer sails between mid-March and mid-November. Next cruise I went to visit Beijing for three hotels, one of which was the new luxury 5 * Aman at Summer Palace. This property is great with a really fine service and exquisite furniture and furnishings, all within the limits of the old Summer Palace located in the suburbs of Beijing. In beside the East Gate of Summer Palace grounds, Aman at Summer Palace, Beijing is in a range of housing, most of which back over a hundred years. Some of the original dwellings were used by guests of the Summer Palace awaiting a hearing with the Empress Dowager Cixi, the turn of the twentieth century. You enter the property by an archway, flanked by two enormous red lacquered doors covered with brass nails.

There are 51 rooms and suites in total. The rooms, most decorated in the style of the Ming dynasty with four poster beds, are located in two new buildings by the main entrance. The spacious suites are decorated in the Ming style. Some sites offer a lounge and space while other rooms have a separate bedroom. Under the courtyard are two underground levels where a large gym, spa and pool are 25m. There are a number of food stores and drinks in the international and Chinese cuisine, a fine selection of wines and a library. My favorite feature is, however, the private wood door that leads directly through one wall of the station you expose the secrets Summer Palace itself. A dawn meeting means you'll have the place almost to yourself.
