I am a dog guardian, he is a wonderful mixed-breed…I know he has fur…but I feel like I have sinned…?
…if I ask him to sleep outside…am I a bad person?
I think it may hurt his self-esteem. Can someone help me??
You are a dog owner NOT a guardian.
The difference may sound slight but it has a legal meaning.
As a guardian you have no right to spay or neuter your dog any more than you do your child. The list in legal meanings is long but it will lead to less if not no dogs at all because ultimately the change from owner to guardian will make pets to much of a liability for anyone to take on. Further the veterinary costs would be similar to human medical costs. You do not want to be a guardian. You are an owner do not change that.
