Most creative wedding?
Describe the most creative wedding you have ever been too. My cousin got married at the UPenn museum of archeology and anthropology. She had her ceremony in the ancient Egyptian room, right in front of the Sphinx. Then, we had to go through the Native American exhibit to get from that room to the reception hall. Her reception was in the Chinese tundra room, and the dancing took place in another ancient egyptian room. The theme for her wedding was “a journey you will never forget”. I though it was very unique.
Most of the weddings I have been to were cookie cutter. However I have attended 2 that stood out. The first was a beautiful Christmas theme.
The other was an all-day affair. The couple took all pictures before the ceremony. They signed the marriage certificate after their vows and released guests from the rows instead of a receiving line. Then they had a cake and punch reception in the fellowship hall with bouquet and garter tosses for the kids. It was open to adults too but they didn’t choose to participate and they weren’t forced to either. The couple had a fake cake for display that they “cut” for the photo ops and had 3 different flavors of sheet cakes for the guests to eat. The sheet cakes were in full view the whole time and no one was offended in the least, and you could get one flavor or 3 and they weren’t sliced until you asked for one so they didn’t have time to dry out like they do when the caterer insists that they be cut an hour ahead of time before dinner is even served. It also made transport of leftovers much easier. Then everyone went across town to a community hall where they had a dj set up for dancing (and the dj didn’t say a word the whole time which people appreciated and just played good music all night) and fruit platters and sub sandwiches from a local grocery for everyone if they got hungry. The couple had also arranged for the limo driver to take the kids for a drive around town to use up the rest of the required time. The reception itself (including the cake and punch but not counting the driving time) was close to 8 or 9 hrs and people were having so much fun that they didn’t want to leave when it was over. To this day, I haven’t been to a wedding that was as fun as that one.
