Changzhou Tianning Temple – a must-visit attraction

With a history dating back to the Zhou Dynasty Western, Changzhou is more than 3,000 years. For its scenic location along the Yangtze River, this city is nicknamed the "Dragon Town '. The popular attractions of the city are China Dinosaur Park, which houses a large collection of dinosaur bones and fossils from all over China, bamboo comb Lane, Hong Mei Park, Wei Yuan and Changzhou Tianning Temple.

The Changzhou Tianning Temple has been around for over a thousand years, and the site of many believers today are attending this age to participate in rituals. Dedicated to the Chinese Chan Buddhist doctrine and many believers of tourists flock to the temple for a glimpse of its ornamental beauty and participate in its spirituality. The Heavenly Kings Palace is said to be one of the most beautiful rooms of the country which is adorned with ancient inscriptions and Buddhist statues. In the lobby from Arhat, a visitor will come through the 500 midwives who are also in life as a form and covered with gold leaf. The Precious Hall of the great hero is the place where the visitor will find the largest room in the complex, and three statues of Buddha, Bhaishajyaguru, Amitabha and Shakyamuni.

Several years ago I was making a small statue of what I think is a statue of Buddha standing.?

I do not know what which is constructed from or how old it is. It is very heavy for its size because it is solid metal, maybe bronze. The base is light enough and resembles marble, but it seems as if it was added later. I would certainly appreciate if someone could give me their opinion on this statue. It is about 250mm high and 70mm at the shoulder. The character itself is represented vertically with one arm down on the side and the other arm bent at the elbow with the palm of the hand forward. The palm is a kind of motto engraved on it. The suit is an unique, but covering only the left shoulder. I have pictures of the statue and can provide these if necessary. The closest image I found on Internet is the one who is described as a standing Buddha "probably Shakyamuni. It appears that you have a statue of Buddha Amitabha Buddha. The Pure Land tradition of Mahayana Buddhism focuses its practice of Amitabha. This tradition is very popular in China, Vietnam, Korea and Japan. Members name Amitabha repeat again and again like a mantra, in the belief that this will result in rebirth in a Pure Land "where there no suffering. Other manifestations of the Buddha (Shakyamuni, for example) are usually represented in a sitting position. Amitabha, on the other hand, is almost always depicted standing.
