Overview of Michelangelo "s Sistine Chapel Fresco

The more I read about Michelangelo and the way he was able to use his genius to overcome the corrupting influence of his benefactor, Pope Julius II in the fresco ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, the more humble I become to think that God would produce such performance commmanding a humble human being.

To understand this genius, start from the beginnning. Michelangelo was born in Bounarroti the village of Caprese, Italy March 6, 1475. Early in his life he had given the gift of God to see the image in a block of marble and could hardly wait to chip to allow the Marbel understand. Her least favorite form of art was painting and so he resisted pressure from the Pope to paint the ceiling the Sistine Chapel. The pope used his power to compel corrupt Michelangelo assuming that the long-term project. The project took four years of which he felt reluctantly took time away from his first love of sculpture.

This background includes several figures ethereal in an "envelope" like a cloak and a cloth hanging. Michel says that this image protrays the right hemisphere of the brain of man the cerebellum, brain and brainstem. It is visually echoes the ancient Jewish prayer proclaiming that God created Adam with the right side Brain divine.

In total there are 300 figures in the fresco representing nine episodes from Genesis developed in three groups, the creation land, the creation of humanity, and the fall of man from God Grace. Supporting the ceiling there are twelve figures who announced the coming of Jesus. Besides around windows are represented the ancestors of Jesus.

When you visit Sistine Chapel, looking for some of these small details known to the genius of Michelangelo and tells us how the artist cannny wanted to ensure that its message would be found and believed.
