Chinese Silk through 5,000 years
China has a history of silk more than 5000 years, since it invented the sericulture and production of silk. It is silk that built a bridge between China and Europe, and the Silk Road became a symbol of the cultural and economic exchange between East and the West. For example, silk is a part of Chinese civilization, which made a great contribution in the world.
What kind of oriental silk mysteries will brought to this beautiful country? We learn that there will be more than 140 pieces / sets of silk textile pieces collected by ChinaSilkMuseum, 80, carefully selected, extremely valuable and rare, are relics of ancient China which epitomizes the historical development of the culture of the Silk. In addition, tissue and modern brocade add up to 60 pieces / sets, including a master embroidered pieces are supplied by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic China.
The exhibition consists of three parts.
Part I tells how China and Europe are linked by the road route silk, that is, the silk relics textiles excavated along the Silk Road by land, sea and desert. Chinese silk chronology charts the development of silk in 5000 recent years by focusing on the history of silk and Chinese culture. A group of model weaving looms, ranging from trade to primitive weaving back-short, the treadle loom weave, reclining business and structuring loom act not only of weaving but also how the ancient Chinese made exquisite silk.
