What is the symbolic meaning of the pose of a horse in Civil War memorials?
One foot up, two feet up, all four feet flat on the ground…I remember that it’s supposed to indicate how the person in the statue died; either during the war in battle, during the war as a result of wounds suffered, or after the conclusion of the war. Anybody know for sure? And does this apply to any war memorial or just U.S. Civil War? Thanks!
