Hall of Great Compassion, a Zen masterpiece
Tianjin is an important city of the People's Republic of China. He has had a turbulent history and turbulent, with many foreign occupations and a multitude of military incidents. At the turn of the 19th century many Western countries had established their presence in Tianjin, establishing their own independent enclaves with their own administration. Hall of Great Compassion is a remarkable attraction in Tianjin. A Zen Buddhist temple originally built in the beginning of the Qing dynasty, it was renovated during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing dynasty. This rapid construction, consisting of three large rooms which Hall of Abbot Hall and cultural relics, the monastery is now the temple.
The new monastery is a recent addition, composed of the front door, the main Shrine Hall, Hall Memorial Hall Tianwang, Xuanzang and Hall Dabei. The main shrine hall, also called Daxiong Temple is the main building of the temple. At the center is a statue of Sakyamuni (Buddha) with its attendant on each side. A ton of six years, 7 meters high statue based on the lotus throne "A" with 9999 miniature Buddhas carved on it. The Hall of Great Compassion contains a statue of 3.6 meters of mud from the "Thousand-Kwan-yin hand.
The monastery once gained fame as the resting place of the relics of Xuanzang, a monk of the Tang Dynasty. However, the relics have was presented to India in 1956, where they now rest in the Patna Museum. Since the removal of relics of the temple, the monastery uses the image of Xuanzang in worship of Buddha.
The temple also contains offices for the Abbe Palais, the cultural relics of the palace and Buddhism Chinese Association. A Cultural Palace contains artifacts of many dynasties including many statues of Buddha in iron, bronze, wood and stone.
