Can I use a hard-drive platter as a reflecting mirror for a portable projector?
I have a customer who brought in a Dell DLP 2300MP Projector. The problem they’re having is that the angled reflection mirror (about 3/4×1″) is shattered, probably due to dropping the projector.
Other than that, it functions just fine.
I can’t get a replacement part quickly, but I do have some dead hard drives. I know the platters are very reflective, and I was wondering if I could use the platter to make a functioning mirror for the projector?
Any reasons why I wouldn’t be able to? Thanks!
Yeah, you can do anything, but will the disk reflect properly and is it ground/shined properly?
Try it rather than wasting time asking about it.
