Don’t Hesitate To Create A Better Home
Do you know the situation? You’re opening the door of your own four walls and normally you should feel good and comfortable but you just don’t. Secretly you hate the colors of your walls, the boring furniture or the chaos at home. You life there and it’s OK but it just don’t completely fulfills you.
Don’t push this feeling away every time, it won’t stop haunting you. You have to become active and change things at home. Even if it’s the most work to change the color of your walls, do it ( of course only if you’re not satisfied with them). You should read something about Feng Shui. It teaches you how to create rooms with high energy flow. So you don’t have to copy every rule they have (for example you shouldn’t have a mirror in your sleeping room), but there are so many tips, that will make your home more comfortable. When you’re doing your walls don’t take just one color, give one wall another fitting color or use little contrasts. That will give your room more deepness. Additionally you should think what’s the purpose of this room. In most cases you’ll have a better time in the room if you use warm colors like red, orange, yellow, brown etc. Cold colors like blue or white are just not that inviting, watch your own feelings when you’re in different colored rooms and places. You’ll very likely see that, you’ll feel more comfortable in warm colored rooms.
Beside the colors, the furniture is the most important factor of your room’s comfort level. But not the price or the quality of the furniture is the most important, it’s the placing of them what makes the real difference. If you just put all of your pieces of furniture on the walls of your room, it will be really boring. What makes a room more elegant is to divide the room either with your furniture or movable walls.
Additionally to the placing of your furniture you should decorate the room. But what’s really important is that you don’t exaggerate. Decent decorations and more important, fitting decorations, are the best decorations. You can take Asian pictures if you have Asian styled rooms and colors. A stoneware pitcher is a good choice for an old European look. There so many possibilities, just limited by your creativity or better, by the creativity of the internet. Take action and create the home you always wished to have. Your home is one of the places where a big part of you life takes place, so it’s worth it.
With all the hype about lead in products from China, I’m worried about the stoneware I bought. Should I be?
I purchased four place settings of stoneware made in China, should I be concerned about lead or other substances in the glaze? Help!
I have several ceramic, stoneware, porecline pieces from China, too. I am concerned enough not to use them for food items. I’ve seen their manufacturing processes and plants and that tells me enough to be concerned.
